A portable air conditioner rated at 3.5 kW, or 12000 BTU, recommended for rooms of 20 to 25 square metres. That covers most main bedrooms and average living rooms, and it needs no permanent installation.

Cooling, fan and dehumidifier modes are all selected from the remote or the LED display, and a 24 hour timer can be set so the unit starts before you get home. The dehumidifier mode is worth having on its own for damp rooms through the wetter months.

The 360 degree swivel castors make it easy to move from room to room, and the universal window exhaust kit adjusts to most window openings. A self evaporating system deals with most of the condensate, with the tank needing emptying more often in dehumidifier mode or in humid weather. Minimal assembly is required.
