This handheld rotary grater takes the effort out of grating hard cheese at the table or on the bench. Load the hopper, close the lid and turn the crank, and shredded cheese falls straight onto the plate or into the bowl.

Four interchangeable stainless steel drums cover different jobs, from fine parmesan style shavings through to coarser shreds, so the same tool handles pasta night, baking and snacks. It also grates chocolate, nuts such as pistachios and almonds, dried coconut and dry bread for breadcrumbs.

The drum separates from the handle for washing, which makes cleaning simple. The supplier notes it is best suited to cheese of moderate hardness, that very soft cheeses are not recommended, that it should be washed by hand rather than in a dishwasher, and that it is not intended for storing food.
