This cast iron tortilla press is built for the larger flatbreads. At 250 mm across, the plate suits flour tortillas, roti and pita rather than only small corn tortillas, and the weight of the iron does much of the work for you.

It arrives pre seasoned, which the supplier states is done with flaxseed oil, and is ready to use straight out of the box with no assembly. The surface treatment gives it a natural stone look and makes wiping down after use straightforward. A thick reinforced handle takes the load when you press heavier doughs.

One hundred sheets of parchment paper are included. Placed above and below the dough ball, they stop it sticking to the plates and make lifting the pressed round away clean and simple. Beyond tortillas, the press handles pizza bases, pita, pancakes, pies and other flatbreads, at home or in a busy kitchen.
